The future of the Kö was the central theme of the fifth edition of “RKW. Auf den Punkt” at the polis Convention in Düsseldorf this week. The focus was on the question: Who will set the pace around the Kö in the future? The answers showed how much the area around Königsallee is currently changing – and what opportunities this presents for city center development.

Klaus Franken, CEO of Catella Project Management GmbH, emphasized the importance of holistic district developments: ‘The KöTower is far more than just a single new-build project. In close cooperation with other owners and the state capital of Düsseldorf, the area surrounding the so-called KöSpitze is being systematically developed and upgraded.

It has become clear that a lively and successful city center is not created by individual new buildings alone. The decisive factor is the interaction and networking of the various players. This is the only way to create real quality of stay and attractiveness in the long term – for users, the city and investors alike.
