The new KöSpitze: Catella and the City of Düsseldorf drive forward the transformation of the quarter

How will the southern Königsallee and the neighbouring Friedrichstadt continue to develop? Around 100 representatives from politics, administration, business and the neighbourhood came together at the invitation of Catella for the “KöSpitze” dialogue event to discuss precisely this question.

The focus was on the urban transformation surrounding the KöTower – a sustainable high-rise project that will provide new impetus for the entire district.

More greenery, more quality of life, more togetherness: KöSpitze is to develop into a lively, green and urban quarter – designed in a dialog between the city, politics, business and citizens.

“We want to think about urban development together – with the people who live and work here. The southern Königsallee offers enormous potential to bring new green and social qualities to the dense Friedrichstadt district. Projects such as the KöTower show how the city, business and citizens can shape the future together,” said Cornelia Zuschke, Councillor for Planning, Building, Housing and Property of the state capital Düsseldorf.

“Many different interests meet in the heart of the city – especially when it comes to traffic, expectations often diverge. This makes it all the more important to look for viable solutions together and constructively in a format like this,” confirmed Jochen Kral, Alderman for Mobility and Environment of the state capital Düsseldorf.

“With the KöSpitze, a place is being created that combines quality of stay, greenery and urbanity. The KöTower is an important driving force here – but it is crucial that the city, residents and investors pull together,” emphasized Klaus Franken, Managing Director of Catella Project Management.

For us, dialog is a central component of sustainable neighborhood development. The results flow directly into further planning. Our common goal is to establish the new KöSpitze as the southern counterpart to the KöBogen.
